With the overclock in place, AMD's Phenom II X6 1090T is able to close the gap on Intel's rampant Core i7 980X but ultimately remains a distant second.

What's clear, though, is that there's plenty of bang to be had from a Ā£240 chip. The decision between a Phenom II X6 and a Core i7 isn't quite as clear cut as you may have thought, and the value proposition of the Leo platform as a whole puts AMD firmly back into the picture.
