The most powerful 15-in gaming laptop in the universe?

Following on from the M17x notebook launched back in May, Dell and Alienware have announced an expansion of the "All Powerful" range with the introduction of three new systems.

First up is the Alienware M15x, a notebook that Dell claims is "the most powerful 15-in gaming laptop in the universe".

The chunky-looking system, pictured above, can be configured with Intel's new 2.0GHz Core i7 920XM Extreme processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics card. The 15.6in LED display can be configured to provide a full-HD 1,920x1,080 resolution, and there's the option of a Blu-ray drive, too.

Pricing starts at Ā£1,199, but start to add the above-mentioned niceties, and you'll soon find yourself a few grand poorer. If you're worried about portability, the Alienware M15x might not be for you - the system measures 48.70mm x 377.93mm x 308.51mm, and weighs at least 4.08kg.
