PRESS RELEASE
- Manchester students first to receive tracks via LifeSort Music file sharing app
- Pioneering service to boost downloading and sales of new music
Students can now get free and exclusive tracks from up and coming bands delivered direct to their computer following the launch of new monthly cloud-based music service LifeSort Music.
The first tracks, delivered direct to computer desktops via file sharing app LifeSort include the Loose Cannons by Kiss 100, Rattus Rattus by Urban Nerds, Maribou State by Chew the Fat and mixes from Manchester's Audio Farm.
"This is a pioneering service and a great way for new bands to showcase their music to a willing public," said Robin Knijn, founder and CEO of LifeSort. "It's also a great way for music fans to discover new tracks on a regular basis and ultimately it can stimulate further downloads and music sales. So many sites offer to help new bands but they rely on users returning on a regular basis. With LifeSort Music you don't have to move. We'll deliver new music every month straight to your desktop."
LifeSort Music is launching in Manchester due to the existing uptake of the file sharing software app in the City. The artists involved have each donated a free mix for exclusive and free distribution from www.LifeSort.com/manchester. These can be downloaded by users and can be accessed anywhere. Users who signup from this address also automatically receive a free 5GB account.
Knijn added; "We decided to give students and music lovers 5GB accounts for free over the coming months. Students need the file space for all that collaboration and file sharing. We're launching in Manchester because this is currentlywhere we have most users."
Users who register before the 30th September will also be put into our ‘win an iPad 2 competition'. The winner will be selected at random and given a iPad 2 complete with the LifeSort iPad application. This will occur before the software is released in the Apple App store.
*LifeSort is free to use and download at http://www.LifeSort.com/manchester Free 5GB accounts will be available up until 30th September 2011. Users who signup after 30th September may only be eligible to receive accounts with 2GB worth of storage.
