A wireless peripheral that hasn't paid off.

ShellShock 2: Blood Trails
ShellShock 2 wasn't hyped in the slightest and there was good reason for that. It didn't help that it was released shortly after the brilliant Killzone 2, but even then it would have still been one of the worst games we've played this year (alongside perhaps Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust.) Still, we were keen to play it after seeing videos that made it look like a cross between Wolfenstein and F.E.A.R.

However, after doing a reasonable job at luring you into the premise that it will be a exciting psychological experience, Shellshock 2 really goes downhill after the first level. From the lackluster audio and uninspiring visuals, right through to technical issues, such as the weapon targeting and A.I., Shellshock 2 is certainly shocking in many respects, but not in a good way. Chances are you would have missed this first person shooter, but if it does turn up in your local videogames store's bargain bucket, you'd do well to steer clear of this stinker.

Tony Hawk Ride
Boasting a brand new peripheral that certainly looks the part and isn't for once just for Wii's casual gaming audience, but apparently for skateboard fans as well, we were certainly excited when it landed on our doorstep. The Tony Hawk franchise is huge and the games have been getting better and better year after year, but the series has taken a huge step back this year. Ultimately, the skateboard is an unresponsive piece of plastic that isn't worth the £100 price tag. Ride is a prime example of how the technological advancement in videogames in recent years, and the rise of wireless peripherals that are meant to enhance gameplay, isn't always a good thing. Unlike Guitar Hero, this won't be making a mint for Activtion, and it doesn't deserve to either. Bring back the normal controls!

That one is there! Very disappointing, yet promised so much.
COD 4 : MW2 - MULTIPLAYER - biggest disappointment for me :(
Easily Wolfenstein for me - real disappointment :(
Operation Flashpoint and Modern Warfare 2 for me.
