PRESS RELEASE

Hyperoptic, the UK’s leading Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband provider, won the coveted “Broadband Pioneer” award at last night’s World Communications Awards, beating off stiff competition from Openreach, ITS Technology Group Ltd and Telkom Indonesia.

The World Communication Awards is the largest awards ceremony in global telecoms, recognising the very best in industry innovation and performance.

The accolade showcases Hyperoptic’s success in redefining the broadband market in the UK and setting the industry gold standard for fibre broadband.

Steve Holford, Chief Customer Officer, Hyperoptic, comments: “Being recognised on a global level as a broadband pioneer is hugely rewarding – we have worked tirelessly to educate the market that our Fibre-to-the-Premises approach is the best and only solution that will enable our country to achieve its full digital potential.

“We were the first company to launch full fibre consumer gigabit services and we are committed to keep leading the pack to give the UK the connectivity it deserves - so that businesses can thrive and consumers can enjoy all the opportunities that unfettered Internet access enables.”

About Hyperoptic

Hyperoptic is the UK’s leading Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) provider, pioneering the UK fibre gold standard: the country’s fastest, most consistent and reliable Internet service. Its fast, symmetrical gigabit services are over 128 times faster than traditional ASDL speeds. Services are delivered via Hyperoptic’s own dedicated fibre network, which means that customers can always connect to the Internet at the speeds advertised.

Hyperoptic works with property owners, developers and professionals, designing and installing dedicated fibre infrastructure to new buildings, and retrofitting improvements to existing developments. Its award-winning services are currently available to consumers and businesses across 20 cities and towns across the UK. It aims to have its hyper-fast service available to over half a million homes by 2019.

Founded in 2011, the company was recognised for ‘Best Superfast Broadband’ award at the 2016 Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) awards and has held the ISPA award for the last four years in a row.
