Exclusive live sporting content now available on Smart TV

London, UK - 25th June 2013 - Samsung today announced the launch of Eurosport onto its Smart TV platform making it the first regional sports broadcasting service available on Samsung Smart TV.

The new sporting App will give people access to over 5,000 hours of live sport every year including ground breaking coverage from the Tour de France, World Championship Athletics, tennis Grand Slams, The Australian, French and US Open, Africa Cup of Nations and the full 2013/14 wintersports season.

From tennis to football, the Eurosport TV Smart TV App gives viewers an opportunity to customise their viewing experience to reflect their interests. For instance, throughout the tennis Grand Slams, viewers will be able to choose from a number of courts to watch during the live coverage.

With more vibrant and richer colours, higher contrasts and a brighter picture quality than ever before, Samsung's 2013 Smart TV series provide the ultimate sporting viewing platform for customers. Complemented with built in sub woofers creating a stadium like experience, Samsung's 2013 Smart TV range ensures people get the very best live sporting action from the comfort of their home.

Eurosport Player is available to download from Samsung TV Apps Store in 40 European countries and 13 languages: German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, English, Danish, Romanian, Russian, Swedish, Czech, Finnish and Norwegian. The app will join an ever-growing collection of services available on Samsung Smart TVs such as, Netflix, LOVEFiLM, Rightmove, Spotify, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. ‘Samsung Apps' is the first and biggest App store available for TVs, with over 20 million Apps already downloaded worldwide, proof that consumers are rapidly embracing the Smart TV format.
