The consumer version doesn’t bother with all the vPro type stuff that the business one does, but puts greater emphasis on graphical performance. So it has the Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, VGA output and HDMI output with HDCP support.

For expandability, there are 3 USB 2.0 ports, ExpressCard™ 34mm Slot, 1 full-height mini-PCIe Slot, 1 half-height mini-PCIe Slot and 3-in-1 media card reader (SD/MMC/MS). Other than that it seems pretty similar to the business one.

Apparently these are already available through a pilot programme involving select partners. We have asked who these are in the UK and hope to bring you that information soon.

Does Intel realise that those boards have big holes cut out of them?

Bit of an oversight.
Has Intel fixed the two bugs on Centrino 2 reported by Anandtech and CRN on HD video frame skipping and WiFi connectivity?

Anand says, “It was almost as if the video decode engine was only decoding half of the frames, the stuttering was that bad.”

CRN says, “While testing some new Centrino 2 based notebooks I came across a strange problem, making me wonder if there is a possible, yet strange bug with Intel's implementation of WiFi on Centrino 2.”

Can you please verify these or get a unit and test it?
Steve, we'll bring your perceptive observation to Intel's attention. Well spotted.
