PHOENIX -- The Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) announces the launch of a new On-Ramp Technical SessionTM featuring design solutions from Texas Instruments (TI). The new On-Ramp features live presentations and demonstrations of TI's TMS320DM365 DaVinciTM video system-on-chip (SoC), a single-chip ARM® processor capable of capturing, encoding, decoding and displaying high definition (HD) video. This On-Ramp is available free of charge to customers in North America upon request.

"The Avnet On-Ramp Technical Sessions provide our customers with design techniques for incorporating the DM365's flexible, built-in video processing hardware without the complexities of multi-format, multi-streaming encode and decode of video," said Alex Iuorio, senior vice president of supplier business development for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. "Armed with that information, this experience will ultimately help shorten product development cycles and reduce overall time to market."

During the new On-Ramp Technical Session, Avnet subject matter experts share best practices, real world design success stories, and provide hands-on demonstrations that show users how to fully take advantage of the DM365 capabilities in capturing, encoding, decoding and displaying HD video. On-Ramp topics include product roadmap, technical overview, system solutions, development tools and reference designs.

"By offering live presentations of TI's DM365 DaVinci video SoC, Avnet's On-Ramp Technical Session allows developers to get in-depth technical information to help them create their designs faster," said Sonia Ghelani, TI's DM36x product line marketing manager. "Through these technical sessions customers learn techniques that they can leverage to get their products to market quicker."
