HD 3870 X2, HD 3650, HD 3650 and HD 3450 all inbound

California-based graphics card manufacturer, Diamond Multimedia, has announced a whole new suite of ATI Radeon graphics cards.

It's HD 3870 X2 1024MB, HD 3650 1024MB, HD 3650 512MB and HD 3450 512MB all feature PCI Express 2.0 and DirectX 10.1.

First up, Diamond's HD 3870 X2, based on ATI's R680 architecture, features dual GPUs and carries 1024MB of DDR3 memory. It clocks in at 825MHz, higher than Club 3D's offering and on par with Sapphire's.

Diamond's Radeon HD 3650 comes in two flavours, a choice of 1024MB or 512MB DDR2 memory. Both cards feature a core clock speed of 725MHz.

Finally, Diamond's HD 3450 features 512MB of DDR2 memory and has a clock speed of 600MHz.

Wanting to stand out from the crowd, Diamond states: "Unlike many cards that are simply first to market, Diamond carefully tests and retests every new model for its ratio of performance to reliability. Diamond is legendary in the PC video card business for its less than 1 percent return rate versus an industry average of approximately 10 percent. Diamond cards use superior connectors, cables and components, as well as undergo more thorough testing for heat susceptibility and durability."

We're not entirely sure of those figures ourselves but nonetheless, expect Diamond's new cards to start showing availability as of now.

Official press release: Diamond Multimedia releases multiple ATI Radeon™ Graphics Cards – HD 3870 X2, HD 3650 and HD 3450

WTF? I thought Diamond didn't exist anymore! Not that I'm unhappy about this, somewhere I still have a Viper V550 AGP card which was VERY good, I'm just surprised.
blast from the past!

i still have a supraexpress modem somewhere
I thought they had gone out of business, the last Diamond product I bought, was a modem (in the attic), well built and reliable. If they can pruduce to the same quality the competition in the marketplace will be useful.

ditto; 56k V90 PCI card. They also used to do the Rio MP3 players. I'm certain they got bought out by someone.

edit: They merged w/S3 and became Sonicblue before going into Chapter 11 protection (effectively becoming insolvent) in 2003. They must have either been bought or got themselves out of it.
