Meet The Cooler Master 630 - External 2

Around the back of the Cooler Master 630 you can see the small ATX power supply that has no external exhaust fan. Although there is still an 80mm fan inside the PSU. I suppose this is an improvement over other small PSU's. The PSU that comes with Shuttle XPC's has a small 40mm fan that doesn't push a lot of air but creates a lot of noise!!! The PSU that comes with the CM630 is a 200watt PSU that has 3 molex connections and 1 FDD connector. Only one fault I could find with the PSU was the cables didn't seem very long to reach my devices.

As you've probably noticed the CM630 is painted black. The shine on the paint finish is unbelievable. When you look carefully at the paint you can see it's finished in a black metallic. I reviewed the Cooler Master Black Widow back in January that had the same paint finish. Cooler Master informed me it was the same paint that Mercedes use. A total of 5 layers of paint. 1 base colour, 2 pearl, 2 clear coats.

At the back is also a security tag that allows a pad lock to be put through the loop. This is to stop the top cover being removed. If there is no pad lock in place the cover can be removed via 1 thumbscrew. The cover can then slide forward and be lifted out of place. There is also space for 4x half height expansion cards. You can already see I have installed a low profile Ge Force 4 into one of the slots. The cards are held in place by a quick release flap that can be seen in the short movie below. (473kb in size).
