Meet The Cooler Master 630 - External 1

Over the past year I’ve reviewed many Cooler Master cases for HEXUS.net. The Cooler Master 630 is the first desktop PC I’ve used for a couple of years. I have to admit that they have come a long way from what I remember of them back at school.

My first impressions of the CM630 are that it’s a very nice looking desktop case. Not only is it an attractive case, but it's made by the leading computer case manufacturer in the world. So we know the build quality of this case is going to be impressive. The front of the case has a fold down front that allows access to 2 x 5¼ inch devices. Across the front are 2 mirrored strips that add a nice feature to the overall appearance of the case. The CM630 measures 350mm wide, 110mm high and 410mm deep. Since the case is quite small it can only accept Micro-ATX sized motherboards.

There are a few connections hidden away behind a small flap on the front of the case. Behind the flap are connections for 4 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x Firewire connector, microphone and headphone ports. These front connections are useful if you are using devices that don't need to be plugged in permanently like a digital camera. Also the microphone and headphone ports are useful for gaming when voice communication is needed.

Next to the small flap is the power button and 2 LED indicators for the power and HD activity. One thing I noticed after a while of looking at this case was there are no Cooler Master labels on the front panel. Usually Cooler Master products have their name and logo splashed all over them. The Cooler Master 630 seems to only have the ATCS logo in the middle of the fold down front.
