PRESS RELEASE
The new STOR.E Wireless Adapter frees users to send data from up to eight mobile devices to their HDD wirelessly
19th March 2014, Neuss - Toshiba Europe GmbH (TEG), Storage Peripheral Division, is today announcing the launch of its innovative STOR.E Wireless Adapter[5], which belongs to a new category of Toshiba network storage products. The STOR.E Wireless Adapter has been specifically developed by Toshiba to give users freedom from cables; users can wirelessly share, stream, keep and access content from their smartphones, tablets, PC and Mac onto their HDD without having the inconvenience of using multiple wires to connect the two devices.
There has been a substantial rise in the amount of mobile devices we now own; it is now estimated that there are 10 digital devices per household in Europe.[6] This is only predicted to increase further, with analyst house IDC predicting that global sales of tablets will grow by 18% and smartphones by 12% this year alone[7]. This increase has led to us all using more and more data which takes up precious memory on devices.
The STOR.E Wireless Adapter helps ease the storage burden on mobile devices by enabling mobile devices to connect to your HDD wirelessly. The user connects the STOR.E Wireless Adapter to their HDD and a power plug and then can connect multiple devices simultaneously, sending data to and from your mobile device - freeing up precious memory for you to take more photos, buy more music and watch more films.
The STOR.E Wireless Adapter gives you access to all your priceless data stored on your HDD in seconds; Making sharing pictures or videos with others quick and easy. The Wireless Adapter can be connected to up to eight devices at one time and, with its Internet Pass-Through Mode, the internet connection is never interrupted so users can simultaneously access their HDDs and the web.
Arnaud Bonvarlet, General Manager Europe, Storage Peripheral Division, Toshiba Europe GmbH said: "Data is a big part of our everyday lives and we need to access it regularly whilst keeping it secure. At Toshiba we've looked at developing a solution that allows people to get the best out of their mobile devices whilst keeping their valuable data safe and secure, with the added benefit of no wires. It's perfect for busy, data-filled lives."
In addition to this, the Wireless Adapter is designed to be sleek and compact - fitting easily into your handbag or laptop case. The 2.5 inch Adapter measures 1.9(H) x 2.5(W) x 0.4(D) inches, weighs 24g and has a transfer rate of up to 300Mb/s. It also has a broad compatibility, working with both Macs and PCs, and has free AndroidTM and iOS® mobile apps available for download.
The STOR.E Wireless Adapter will be available for purchase from May 2014.[8]
