BERLIN, Sept 3, 2014 - Today at its Global Press Conference at IFA Berlin, Acer announced the powerful and stylish Aspire V13 notebook, as well as the Aspire E- series in a variety of screen sizes ranging from 11-inches to 17-inches[1], created to make quality productivity and entertainment available to all.
The Acer Booth at IFA 2014 (Hall 12/101) will be open to the public from September 5th to 10th 2014, following the new product announcements at the Acer Global Press Conference on September 3rd.
Acer Aspire V13 | Superb style, great power
With its light weight, thin design, powerful processor, long-lasting battery life, and full Windows 8.1 experience, this stylish notebook is primed and ready to go - anywhere, anytime. No need to choose between portability, power, modern design, or performance: the Acer Aspire V13 provides the perfect balance. Available in Steel Grey and Platinum White, the Acer Aspire V13 comes with a premium aluminum top cover that gives it a sleek metallic finish. The covers are imprinted using Acer Nanoimprint technology for a truly unique textured look; the Steel Grey version has a geometric arrow pattern, while the Platinum White is decorated by a hidden code pattern.
The Acer Aspire V13 was conceived with portability in mind, and enables true freedom for its users: weighing only 1.5 kg and being only 19.65 mm thin, it provides a great experience on the go. Additionally, its seven-hour battery life[2] allows users not to worry about power outlets for nearly an entire work-day, and users can always check their autonomy without opening their laptop via light indicators located on the spine. Furthermore, this notebook comes with a USB 3.0 port, from which files can be transferred up to 10x faster than on a USB 2.0 port, and other devices can be charged, even while the computer is shut down.
The Acer Aspire V13's is packed with features that set it aside from the other notebooks in its category. From Dolby Digital Plus Home Theatre technology for an immersive, cinema-like sound experience, to a sensitive Skype Certified digital microphone to ensure crystal-clear communications at all times, the user is guaranteed quality entertainment. To ensure continuity and ease of movement from one device to the other, the Aspire V13 comes with built-in AcerCloud, which allows to seamlessly share videos, photos, music and documents across notebooks, tablets and smartphones.
Additionally, the Acer Aspire V13 sports 4th Gen Intel Core processors, which are much faster and power-efficient than their predecessors. This notebook boasts up to 16 GB of system memory and optional fast SSD storage to ensure fast access to all files and ability to seamlessly run several heavy applications at once, as well as a hard disk of up to 1 TB which allows the user to store everything important and more. Finally, thanks to 2x2 Multi-input Multi-output (MIMO) wireless module design, data is processed at up to twice the speed of traditional WiFi solutions; and for users who wish to user their Ethernet cable, the Aspire V13 offers a Gigabit LAN port, which transfers data up to ten times faster than devices with 10/100 Ethernet ports.
Acer Aspire E- Series | Be cool on the move
Available in 11, 13, 14, 15 and 17 inches, the Acer Aspire E- Series delivers what users need most for work and fun: maximum productivity, comfortable viewing and the ultimate portability in its class. Slim and lightweight, the Aspire E- Series features the Acer distinctive easy-grip FlowCurve design and stylish patterned cover that allow these notebooks to stand out in the PC crowd. And for those users who want to extend their style to their computing devices, the 11-inch model is available in four additional colours (silver, pink, brown and blue).
The Aspire E series was created with maximized productivity in mind. Its optimised precision touchpad offers fast, accurate gesture control and improved scrolling for an enhanced Windows 8.1 experience. It supports 6 core Windows 8 TouchPad gestures and is optimised to be as smooth as gestures on a touchscreen. With a battery life of up to 7 hours[2], the Aspire E- series enables users to stay unplugged for nearly an entire workday of use. This, paired to Intel Pentium or Celeron processors, 8GB of system memory, Gigabit LAN port and up to 1 TB of storage, makes the Aspire E series completely proficient for fast and smooth productivity anywhere.
Entertainment is also core to this series. Movies, videos and games are clean and crisp thanks to a high-definition LED display and the latest NVIDIA* or Intel® HD graphic cards. Acer's Crystal Eye HD webcam and a high-quality digital microphone guarantee easy and pleasant VoIP experiences (available on both the 11 and 13-inch models), and that is why these notebooks are also Skype Certified.
Availability & Pricing
The Acer Aspire E- Series and the Acer Aspire V13 will be available in September 2014. The Aspire E- Series will be priced starting at £179, while the Aspire V13's is starting at £399.
