Also highlighted, was the enhanced Windows Vista user experience that these platforms will deliver, together with indications that mobile systems based on the new technologies demonstrated, will be available later in this quarter from computer manufacturers.

AMD's 'Better by Design' initiative, includes ATI Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce Go graphics solutions, together with Atheros, Broadcom, Marvell, Qualcomm and Realtek handling the wireless solutions scope.

In the battery life department, AMD highlighted details of their memory technology, display cache, which, incorporated with AMD's M690 chipset, allows the system CPU to function without accessing system memory, whilst being in a low power mode.

AMD claim that the battery life initiatives above, combined with the improvements achieved through the 65nm design of the AMD Turion 64X2 Dual Core platform, extends battery life to in excess of five hours, that being up to an hour more than the battery life experienced with previous mobile AMD platforms.
