If it's NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology that has you licking your lips or, the recent GTX 460 launch that has simply pushed you over that 3D edge, ASUS has launched - what it hopes will be - the perfect life partner to your escapades.

The VG236H - which we spoke about earlier this year - aims to make a name for itself by featuring a 23in Full HD 1,920x1,080 display together with, the company's Trace Free II technologies - responsible for a super-fast 120Hz refresh rate and, 2ms GTG response time.

Adopting a sleek and no-nonsense form, a largely significant selling point is support for NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology, with the VG236H harnessing the power of the bundled active shutter glasses to deliver a true 3D movie and gaming experience. Combined with ASUS' Splendid Video Intelligence Technology - tweaking colour fidelity through the inclusion of five pre-set options - ASUS firmly targets this latest offering to the domain of 3D aficionados everywhere.

Other specifications - such as the 400 nits brightness rating - combine with ASUS' Color Shine Technology to produce, what is claimed to be, an exceptionally smooth panel to reduce the diffusion of light. Utilising multiple colour film coats, the technology is expected to improve image clarity, whilst enhancing colour density and saturation.

With an expected price point under the £400 mark, ASUS' flavour of the month doesn't neglect connectivity or adjustability options either. Dual-link DVI, HDMI and YPbPr ports are spiced-up with built-in cable management to keep your desktop happy, together with the usual tilt-swivel-height adjustment functionality to keep viewing comfort in check.
