Sapphire's Radeon HD 4850 X2 launched back in November '08 and remains the one-and-only 4850 X2 in production. If you've already picked one up, and you're now wanting to overclock the hell out of it or just make it as quite as possible - you can, thanks to XSPC.

The UK-based water-cooling specialist has announced the availability of its Razor 4850 X2 water block, bringing enthusiasts the opportunity to water cool Sapphire's dual-GPU card.

The Razor 4850 X2, pictured below, is said to have been co-developed by Sapphire and XSPC and is made from CNC machined copper with a CNC cut acetal top and aluminium VRM cooler. Should you be wanting to double up with another 4850 X2, it's CrossFire ready with four threaded ports.

A useful solution for those wanting to put Sapphire's Radeon HD 4850 X2 into an existing water-cooled system, but current pricing might deter would-be buyers. XSPC prices the Razor 4850 X2 at £74.99, and Sapphire's 2GB card is currently being sold at SCAN.co.uk at a cost of £227.46.

That's over £300 in total, and with recent price cuts, a stock-cooled but notably-quicker Radeon HD 4870 X2 can be found for just £240. On the other hand, if you're already got your hands on a 4850 X2 and you insist on water cooling it, there really aren't any other options that we know of.

Little spelling mistake last line on paragraph 1. "quite" instead of "quiet".

4850x2 is not good value anymore. Not when two 4770's come in at £150 - £160 and are faster, cooler and quieter.

Bring on a nice simple, cheap block for the 4770 please.Quote
