Earlier this month, we reported that AMD's ATI Radeon HD 4870 pricing began to tumble without warning, making a 512MB XFX card available for less than £125.

That was followed up by the 2GB ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 - shipping just a few days ago for £263.90. If you're still on the fence, the XFX derivative of the card is now available for even less - with UK-based etailer SCAN.co.uk* listing the card at £240.90.

A cracking deal, we reckon, for what remains ATI's flagship card. So what about the green team? Well, it looks as though NVIDIA and its partners aren't resting on their laurels. Whilst browsing through the SCAN catalogue today, we've found another spanking good deal on an ASUS GeForce GTX 285.

The card, pictured above, is ASUS' take on NVIDIA's fastest single-GPU offering, and is currently being offered by SCAN.co.uk* at a cost of £248.72. As far as we can recall, this is the first time we've seen the card for less than £250, and it's a healthy price drop considering it launched just four months ago priced at around £315.

Give it another few weeks; I have a feeling (and I bet a lot of people do) that these cards havn't reached their lowest prices yet.
