It seems to be a good week to be buying an ATI graphics card. Just the other day, we found that prices were beginning to tumble on the Radeon HD 4870 - a result of the recent arrival of the mid-range Radeon HD 4770, we felt.

Today, we're seeing an equally impressive price drop on ATI's flagship card - the Radeon HD 4870 X2 - as an XFX derivative is being sold at SCAN.co.uk* at a cost of £263.90. Remember, this is a card that continues to be ATI's fastest offering, and has recently been priced at £330 or more.

It's a healthy price cut, we reckon, and despite being toppled by NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 295 as the fastest single-card solution in the world, it'll still offer gamers a ridiculous amount of power.

This can be picked up even cheaper over at novatech for £258.74 inc vat.

Is that price without P&P as the scan price would be with free p&p so they would be almost the same price.

Nice price though for a lot of power.Quote

Re: News - ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 now selling for less than £270
great i cashed in on this one, however after instaling my card and atempting to use it i am repeatedly sent to blue screen. The drivers are insane, none have worked and i have tried EVERY entry on AMD's web page. Im busy downloading the Win 7 RC 64 to replace the vista 64 i am running at the moment in the vain hope that i wont have to return this for a GTX 295 (and extra £200!).Quote
