Introduction

HEXUS took a look at the dual-GPU Radeon HD 3870 X2 GPU on Monday and surmised that it made for the fastest single card in GPU-land. That statement was a little premature, especially with, at the time, no GeForce 8800 Ultra to contend with.

Adding in the Ultra and comparing it to a retail X2 from HIS made implicit sense. That's exactly what we've done, so read on to see if the R680 really is top-dog - as far as speed and value are concerned.
