has developed the ELSA MicroLink
56K i, a high-speed modem that offers
operational and system security for
applications under the toughest
industrial conditions. The ELSA MicroLink
56K i is particularly strong in
measurement, monitoring, and control
technology, where reliable data
communications and stable Internet access are
important. Typical
applications include remote machinery status requests,
cash till systems or
alarm systems. Fitted with a robust, stackable aluminum
casing and a wealth
of security features, the ELSA MicroLink 56K i is
specially built to meet
the needs of professional users.

The ELSA
MicroLink 56K i can be powered not only by the
standard power adapter, but
also by any voltage between 9V and 30V, AC or
DC. An intelligent Powerfail
monitor continuously observes the power supply
voltage. If this should drop
too sharply, the modem will be paused and
restarted when the power reaches an
acceptable level again. In the case of
a broken connection or internal
error, the Hardware Watchdog automatically
restarts the modem and so prevents
any system lock-ups.

The ELSA MicroLink 56K i can also be configured
with
password-protected remote configuration, a feature otherwise found only
in
network routers. The automatic call-back function enables simple
remote
configuration. The returned call is directed only to a predefined
telephone
number, ensuring maximum security.
