Benchmarks: Storage
It used to be that you could tell from looking at these graphs which systems were equipped with SSDs and which weren't. Now it's a case of seeing which are outfitted with old-fashioned SATA SSDs, and which sport newer, faster M.2 drives interfacing via PCIe.
MSI's use of dual 128GB Samsung SM951 M.2 drives in RAID 0 delivers terrific read speed, though we aren't entirely convinced that a RAID setup is essential. A single, larger SSD would, we feel, remove an unnecessary layer of complexity.
