Two things to note here. The first is just how well the HD 4870 X2 scales as the resolution increases; we can discern this by how the other cards drop-off in comparison. At a GPU-busting 2,560x1,600 the next-best GPU, GeForce GTX 280, manages to hit around two-thirds the X2's performance. Adding in anisotropic filtering barely reduces frame-rates and doesn't provide a perceived benefit in terms of IQ, but does add to the benchmark's variability, hence its exclusion.

The second point of interest is that the Sapphire X2 2GB is over twice as fast as a single-GPU Radeon HD 4870? How? Well, the HD 4870's results are hugely variable, as are all 512MB-eqipped cards', but the X2's 2GB framebuffer helps out here in smoothing gameplay.

In short, the previous Company of Heroes: OF champion, GTX 280, is bent over and spanked, hard.
