Review: Intel Core i5-4440 (22nm Haswell)

Single-threaded speed is Intel's forte, so much so that the Core i5-4440 is over 40 per cent quicker than the price-comparable AMD A10-7850K.

AMD will readily admit, when pushed, that it's behind on single-thread perf. Drive all the cores, in Cinebench for example, and Intel's £130 chip is faster still, hammering the AMD APU by over 50 per cent.

AMD's more in the fight with the all-core wPrime, where it trails Intel's Core i5-4440 by just 10 per cent.
