Aopen presents its second-generation miniPC – MP945

HEXUS.CEBIT Aopen had the second generation of its MiniPC on display at CeBIT, the MP945 and, while it looks no different from the outside, it’s the inside where the changes have really happened. Now featuring Intel VIIV technology within the smart aluminium enclosure, the MP945 houses a standard 2.5” HDD as well as a slimline DVD drive should you so wish.

The mainboard that ships with the MP945 now features a 479 socket with support for the Yonah Celeron M processor as well as a single SO-DIMM slot for up to 1GB of internal memory. It also has support for IDE, SATA, USB and one mini PCI card - not bad considering its 165mm(L) x 165mm(W) x 50mm(H) dimensions.

As this is all powered by the Intel 945GM chipset coupled with ICH7M-DH integrated graphics, there is an usual lineup of connectors on the back of the MP945, including 1GB LAN, FireWire, USB, SPDIF digital audio, composite video and DVI.

The MP945 is expected to ship this quarter for sample usage with mainstream production expected in early Q2 2006. HEXUS.CEBIT
