Taking up a large stand at Halle 2 of the Hannover Messe, Shuttle's making its presence felt in more than just the small form-factor market.

Starting off our look at Shuttle's CeBIT 2006 lineup is its M2000 Media Center offering.

Based on Intel's Viiv technology, the M2000 is the sucessor to the, you guessed it, M1000 system.

The model showcased at CeBIT 2006 featured a range of goodies, including an Intel Core Duo processor (T2400), 512MB SODIMM RAM, 250GB SATA hard drive, a multi-format card reader, multi-format DVD ReWriter, Gigabit LAN and triple-band WiFi, along with a couple of tuners (analogue and DVB-T), meaning concurrent watching and recording functionality. A GeForce 6600LE provided the necessary video output. Windows XP MCE 2005 was the OS of choice, naturally.

Interestingly, the model also featured an enclosure for a 2.5-inch hard drive. Input devices included an MCE remote control and wireless keyboard. The Shuttle M2000 Media Center PC's chassis was well-built and first impressions were favourable. Expect it to be on sale very soon.
