16 port PCI Express RAID ready to tame your raptors

If you need a large amount of fast redundant storage and have a spare x8 or x16 PCI-Express slot, then Tekram could have the answer.

Tekram ARC-1210

Based around the Intel 80332 IOP (I/O Processor) and available with 4-16 ports, the Tekram ARC-1210/1220/1230/1260 boards are equipped with a PCI-E x8 connector to minimise any possible Bus-bandwidth issues (yes, even when equipped with 16 x 147GB Raptors).

As most SATA drives are significantly cheaper than their SCSI counterparts, this means that those who need (and can afford) an 8TB array, can use 16 x 500GB drives and build it relatively cheaply (well compared to SCSI).

You'll probably need a stacker with umpteen additonal 4-in-3 modules to house 16 HDD's.

I think I'd need 2 of them!

One for the HDs and one for the the rest of the stuff and water cooling!
