Corsair has today responded to its customer's requests by confirming that its standard SSD warranty will be extended from two to three years for newly purchased drives.

The change is expected to be made official on the Corsair website later today, and the three-year warranty puts Corsair in line with what's quickly becoming an industry standard for solid-state media.

Less than 12 months ago, rival manufacturer OCZ announced a similar warranty extension on its high-end drives, whilst the likes of Intel and Crucial offer a three-year warranty as standard for SSD products.

Corsair's upcoming Force Series drives will now ship with a three-year warranty, but whether or not the one-year extension will be made available to existing customers hasn't yet been confirmed.

Now if they can just triple the capacity and halve the price, they just might get me interested. :D

I'm not holding my breath, by the way.
Why havent hard drive manufacturers made any SSD's?
They're getting there slowly… I know Western Digital were looking into it.

I think the problem is that the RAM companies were the obvious candidates, dealing with this type of stuff all the time.

It's not really an industry that HD manufacturers have expertise in.

not far wrong on that one going on WD's immensely disappointing and heavily overpriced first ssd!
