Sweex turns to plain English and decent pricing to lure customers

Sweex

Ever heard of Sweex?. Chances are that you will in the near future.

Sweex took the step of taking out an entire stand, and quite a large one at that, at this year's CTS show. Sweex is a Dutch company that was founded in 1978 and now carries over 300 product lines and employs 55 staff. Its products range can be grouped into storage, sound and vision, connectivity, and networking categories.

Sweex is attempting to break into markets that already have a number of high-profile players. Its attempting to accomplish this by clear branding and messaging. For example, under the 'My Digital Life' banner, Sweex uses plain English to describe each product's features. Packaging is also instantly recognisable and consistent across product ranges, too. One quick glance informs you exactly what the product is intended for, in both layman and technical terms, and the focus is one of what the technology allows you to do, rather than of the tech. itself.

A perusal of the recommended price list for various products shows Sweex's products to be at the lower end of the scale. In view of this, it's heartening to see that almost all are backed up by a 3-year warranty.

We should have a few Sweex products to review in the future, so stay tuned!
