Acer originally launched its ProDesigner PE320QK monitor at the next@acer event in New York back in April. It subsequently won a Computex 2017 design award. Now this 31.5-inch 4K monitor, aimed at content creators, has been released in the US and is available to purchase.

Creative professionals will appreciate the following highlights of the Acer ProDesigner PE320QK monitor, reckons the Taiwanese tech company:

  • Ultra high-definition 4K resolution,
  • HDR Xpert technology,
  • IPS panel with wide viewing angles,
  • ZeroFrame design (4 sides),
  • Reversible USB-C port for easily connecting and charging devices (up to 85W),
  • Accurate colours with a low Delta E < 1, supporting 130% of the sRGB and 95% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut,
  • Six axis colour adjustment,
  • Acer VisionCare technology is incorporated (low blue light, flickerless tech and ComfyView anti-reflective display).

Probably the major feature of this monitor is its colour accuracy across a wide colour gamut. Furthermore, it supports HDR technology with deeper contrast than conventional monitors, helped in part by its global dimming functionality.

What is more surprising is to see that Acer’s ProDesigner PE320QK monitor features some technology that is often reserved for gaming products. It features AMD FreeSync to eliminate screen tearing and stutter, plus the latest “Low Framerate Compensation (LFC), for pristine smooth gaming at 30 FPS or less”. Acer mentioned that fast response times and Low Input Lag Technology facilitate “a lag-free experience”, again with an eye on the gamer market.

Other key specs revealed by Acer are the monitor’s 60Hz refresh rate, 4ms grey to grey response time, 1300:1 contrast ratio (100,000,000:1 adaptive contrast ratio), 350 nits max brightness, 1.07 billion colours, 100mm x 100mm VESA mount compatibility, 2W stereo speakers, and connectivity via DP 1.2, HDMI 2.0 x2, USB 3.1 Type-C (with USB 3.0 four port hub).

An Acer ErgoStand comes equipped, it lets users easily swivel (+/- 45 degrees), tilt (-5 to 20 degrees), pivot (+/- 90 degrees) and adjust the height (up to 115mm).

The Acer ProDesigner PE320QK is available in the US now for $1199.
