PRESS RELEASE

Taipei, Taiwan, June 12, 2018 – At the opening of CEBIT 2018, QNAP® Systems, Inc. showcased a wide range of new NAS: From the entry-level TS-328 (QNAP's first three-bay quad-core NAS) to the affordable TS-453BT3 with Thunderbolt™ 3 connectivity, the 9-bay 10GbE-ready TS-932X with an ARM-based AnnapurnaLabs processor, and the TS-1677X with AMD Ryzen™ processor. QNAP also demonstrated advanced software applications including Virtualization Station that empowers a NAS to host virtual machines, the QVR Pro video surveillance system along with Hikvision cameras, and QuAI - an AI developer platform to quickly build, train and optimize AI models running on QNAP NAS systems. QNAP's expertise is well represented in hall 12, booth B103 alongside joint solutions with partners Seagate®, Hikvision® and iEi®.

TS-328 as a budget-friendly RAID 5 NAS

The TS-328 features a Realtek RTD1296 quad-core 1.4 GHz processor and is QNAP’s first 3-bay NAS, making it capable of building a RAID 5 array with the fewest disks and also supports snapshots. The TS-328 provides feature-rich multimedia applications and video transcoding capabilities, and is an ideal solution for home users to centrally store, backup and manage files and data.

Affordable TS-453BT3 Thunderbolt™ 3 for creative professionals

The 4-bay TS-453BT3, powered by an Intel® Celeron® J3455 quad-core 1.5GHz processor (burst up to 2.3 GHz), combines high-speed Thunderbolt 3 connectivity with a pre-installed QM2 PCIe card, providing dual M.2 SATA SSD slots and 10GbE connectivity. It features a sleek OLED display, 4K HDMI output, and provides SMBs, workgroups and media professionals with a feature-rich and high-performance storage solution.

The 9-bay TS-932X auto-tiering storage

The TS-932X is a budget-friendly 10GbE NAS designed to accommodate five 3.5-inch hard drives and four 2.5-inch SSDs along with dual 10GbE SFP+ ports. The slim ARM-based model runs with an AnnapurnaLabs Alpine AL-324 quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A57 processor, and supports SSD caching and Qtier for optimizing storage performance and utilization.

TVS-1582TU and TS-1677X - NAS on the enterprise level

TVS-1582TU is QNAP's first enterprise Thunderbolt 3 rackmount NAS. With its four Thunderbolt 3 ports and two 10GbE ports, the 15-bay NAS is a flexible solution for the media industry. It allows video editing on the road as well as at the filming location. The Thunderbolt 3 ports can be used at the same time as slots for the USB-C 3.1 Gen2 with 10 Gbps. Thanks to ultra-fast data transfer and backup, the TVS-1582TU can be used as data storage for live productions in SNG and OB vans.

The TS-1677X Ryzen NAS features twelve 3.5-inch drive bays and four 2.5-inch drive bays, delivering absolute performance with an AMD Ryzen processor (up to 8 cores/16 threads). It provides two 10GBASE-T RJ45 ports (that support 10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M speeds) and three PCIe slots for incredible expansion potential. When used with a high-end graphics card and QNAP's QuAI AI developer platform, it transforms into a powerful AI big data storage and computing center.

Upgrade network environment and performance with QNAP's 10GbE switch and QM2 cards

QNAP are also displaying the new 10 GbE/NBASE-T unmanaged switch – the 12-port QSW-1208-8C (4 SFP+ fiber ports, 8 SFP+/ RJ45 copper combo ports). The switch provides home and small business users with 10GbE connectivity for bandwidth-intensive tasks and helps to reduce costs by being backwards compatible with existing Cat 5e, 6, and 6a cables.

QNAP's QM2 PCIe expansion cards allow users to add M.2 SSDs and 10GbE RJ45 connectivity to a QNAP NAS. QM2 cards allow for enabling SSD caching for boosted IOPS performance or to form an auto-tiering volume for optimal storage performance. Advanced QM2 models feature 10GbE 10GBASE-T connectivity to provide an affordable upgrade path when adopting 10GbE networks.
