Introduction

It is only a year ago that the mini PC concept took off with the launch of the first machines that were capable of running with an AGP graphics card. For the first time a truly small alternative all round machine could be built. A year on, MSI have entered the space saving PC arena in some style with the launch of their MegaPC. The MegaPC is in direct competition with some very well established machines from the likes of Shuttle, in a sector that has fierce competition at the moment and will therefore need to demonstrate some impressive features to secure sales.

The MegaPC has a specification that has been very well thought out. MSI have opted for perhaps slightly less performance and more features. This makes very good sense as very high performance often results in excessive heat and with the cramped style of the mini PC, that is normally bad news.

MSI have clearly aimed the MegaPC at the home user and it should be very well suited to someone looking for an excellent multimedia solution and where the machine needs to be located in a reception room of the house.
