Introduction

SOYO KT400 DRAGON ULTRA PLATINUM EDITION

SOYO bring their trademark DRAGON platinum makeover to VIA's KT400 chipset in the form of the suitably titled KT400 DRAGON Ultra Platinum Edition motherboard. We've already seen KT333 and P4X400 versions of this premium motherboard, so SOYO thought it was high time that a KT400 variant was released to those that value aesthetics as much as anything else.

The DRAGON series of motherboards, epitomised by distinctive features, have been gaining SOYO something of a reputation as a provider of premium, feature-packed motherboards. The KT400 chipset, whilst not differing from the successful KT333 version a great deal, has proved to be a stable and capable offering from the folks at VIA.

With the resurgence of AMD's processors, as we're now seeing the very latest Thoroughbred 'B' CPUs going as high as 2.5GHz on air, albeit with excellent cooling and enhanced voltages, the AMD platform has now gained some sort of parity against Intel's finest.

We'd expect a rock-solid motherboard with useful features, that seems to be the hallmark of SOYO. Let's see how this one pans out.
