Ubisoft has today confirmed that H.A.W.X 2 will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 3, 2010.

Though it's yet to be 100% confirmed, Narrative Director Edward Douglas also revealed that the PC version is set to be released on the same day. The original game receieved mixed reviews, so Ubisoft is going all out to improve every aspect of the gameplay.

H.A.W.X 2 will include “all aspects of aerial combat” including takeoffs and landings, air-to-air refuelling, dog fighting, recon missions in UAVs and even laser-guided target bombing.

The game is going to use satellite imagery to create realistic locations and scenery, a massive weak point of the original. Some of the areas that will be included are Moscow, the Arctic Circle and a desert area in the Persian Gulf.

Ubisoft also confirmed that this game will include four-player co-op through the entire campaign as well as “full adversarial multiplayer” with up to 7 other players.

So presumably that'll include a flight model that has some basis in reality??

I'm assuming this will require a permanent and stable internet connection for Uplay, Ubisoft's customer punishment system? If that's the case, I'll be adding this to my list of titles to avoid.
Very good news.

I have been disappointed with NAMCO for indefinitely putting Ace Combat series on hiatus! Thank God HAWX is now released actively.
