Nintendo has confirmed that a brand new, budget-priced Wii bundle will launch in October, but it will not be a slimmed-down version of the current console as previously rumoured.

The new system will remove backwards compatibility with Nintendo Gamecube software and will not include control or memory card ports. The bundle will feature the two of Wii's most popular casual titles, Wii Sports and Wii Party, and will include a white Wii Remote Plus controller, as well as a Nunchuk controller.

A firm release date and price has yet to be set, though the family-friendly bundle is rumoured to retail at under £100.

Considering a fully spec Wii can be had for around £100, this seems like rubbish PR stunt to sell an outdated console.
outdated or not WII titles fill the top 10 sales charts world wide weekly/monthly and yearly ; nintendo are making alot of money on these.
I'm guessing if its cheaper than a current WII it might work however as Brewster0101 has pointed out they are less than £100 anyway???
