IBC 2005Some may think that the comments made at IBC by NDS president Dr Abe Peled about Microsoft as a rival IPTV solutions-provider are just sour grapes but visitors to IBC who passed through Schiphol airport or train station might think instead he's had some deeply traumatic experience with MS operating systems.

Crash

This shot show an MS OS error message being displayed on the airport’s arrivals boards yesterday (Saturday) and something similar was seen by your correspondent earlier in the week. The planes still seemed to land safely (and on time)but…

Oh, and Peled is quoted as saying that his company’s “IPTV solution is differentiated from Microsoft in only one way: ours works. Television is an experience that does not permit messages like 'please wait: system rebooting', or 'Virus Alert'."

try coming down in the lifts of britain's tallest building, from the 46th floor, and seeing that the information screen in the lift is posting a BIOS mesage that includes the phrase “cannot find ‘blah blah’, please check cable”. check the cable??! :shocked2:

not a message you want to see in a lift with 40+floors of air below…

i also saw the lift blue-screen once. i swear if i didn't work on the 46th floor i'd almost be tempted to take the stairs! :)
