The HEXUS.net custom rig wows the show!
At ECTS, over on the VIA stand there's a large crowd gathered, watching some of gaming's greats take on all challengers and thoroughly humiliate them. But when the fragging stops, the crowd shuffles to its left and resumes staring in wide-eyed wonder.
What they're gawking at and dribbling over is the HEXUS.net customised PC, an absolute gaming beast, packed full of more punch than Amir Khan.
At the heart of the machine, inside a customised AKASA case, is an AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 nestled into an ABIT AV8 motherboard. There's a Gig of Corsair 3200 XL Pro DDR and to cap it all an ATi Radeon X800XT PE. This machine is pumped full of more steroids than any sprinter you would care to mention.
In an ordinary situation, this beast would be a head turner, but the impact it has made at ECTS is even more remarkable given that it was pulling admiring glances and lots of interest from today's jaded computer professionals.
Not only did the machine look the part, it was breezing through Doom 3 on perfect quality settings with 2xAA and 4xAF! I personally saw one guy take a look under the table to see if the screen he was playing on wasn't hooked up to a Kray. Proof, if it were ever needed, that when it comes to hardware, HEXUS knows how to do it and do it with style!
