Introduction

What happened to Cooler Master? Well it’s a long story really but the case division, ACTS, left and setup their own company called SilverStone Technology. It was a sad day when we realised that Cooler Master cases were going to become a rare item. Day after day you could check on retailer websites and see the more desirable models taken off the website as stock levels ran out. Enthusiasts started buying large batches of their favourite Cooler Master case in order to ensure they have their dream case when they come to build their new PC. Slowly each model was removed from the retailer’s websites and replaced with the newer Cooler Master models along with the new naming convention such as Wave Master.

The new Cooler Master range doesn’t have the same “zing” as the older models, which is forcing enthusiasts to look elsewhere for aluminium cases. Of course we still have Lian Li who produce some superb aluminium cases, but recently their newer models have taken a turn for the worst. The design of them is rather bizarre and most enthusiasts that I have spoken to wouldn’t purchase one as they are put off by the hideous designs.

This leaves a hole in the market. Fortunately the guys from the case division at Cooler Master realised the demand for quality aluminium cases and started the design of the new improved “Cooler Master” cases. Are they improved though?
