XFX has today released information about the further core clock and memory speed enhancements it has managed to squeeze out of its range of XT and XXX editions of graphics solutions, powered by NVIDIA's GeForce 8800GTS GPU.

Thanks to fine-tuning of its production of the premium XT and XXX lines, the maker has announced that its XT SKU will boast a core clock speed of 580MHz and memory speeds of 1.8GHz.

The XXX SKU has received a speed bump to 600MHz and memory speeds will now be to the tune of 1.9GHz.

Respectively, upon launch, the XT edition featured speeds of 530MHz/1.7GHz and the XXX edition, speeds of 550MHz/1.8GHz.

Based upon NVIDIA's reference speeds of 500MHz/1.6GHz, XFX's further strides in these departments are clearly something it's incredibly proud of.

The models are clearly targeted at those who wish to sample the taste of highly overclocked parts, without any breach of the warranty, state the company.

XFX believes that despite recent competition in the same price bracket from AMD's HD2000 series, it comes out as the fastest video card manufacturer and clearly the above move adds fuel to the graphics card wars.
