Introduction

We took a look at ASUS' well-featured P5K Deluxe motherboard and surmised that whilst it was expensive for a P35 chipset-based motherboard - being priced at around £145 - it was stable, fast, overclockable and a decent choice for a high-end Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad machine.

The Bearlake P35 chipset, as you may know, also supports DDR3 memory from the get go, so ASUS was only too keen to launch another P5K model, replete with DDR3 support.

Is it worth the £15 price premium over its DDR2-equipped stable-mate? Lets' find out!
