Thermaltake V1 - Introduction and Packaging

Introduction

The last of the four Thermaltake coolers under consideration is the V1, a product that was announced earlier this year at CeBIT. Our sample was shipped to us during the show and went through the labs straight after.

It was originally called the Volcano V1 - harking back to another Thermaltake cooler series of old – but that was later simplified and so it's now just called the V1.

Packaging

The packaging of the V1 is very similar to that of the Big Typ VX. A large outer cardboard carton contains a plastic shell holding the cooler in place during transit. Our sample carried stickers over the Volcano name but that should be gone when the product goes on sale.

At first glance, it looks as though all you get in the box is the cooler but a small box is hidden out of sight at the bottom of the shell and contains various mounting systems for different types of socket.
