A Word of Advice


Testing coolers is a tricky thing. You have so many variables involved it's as clear as a Foxconn product name. With ambient heat and thermal paste thickness playing a part, it would be simplistic to categorically pick a winner based on thermal results alone.

So we will also look at each package as a whole - how much it costs, if it's going to take a week-and-a half to fit and require a surgeon's skills and – importantly - if it has a tendency to draw blood!

Okay, the last one is the least likely – or so we were hoping - but all the rest will be taken into account, with awards given for some of the parts within, as well as to the cooler packages.

First, though, let's just go through the specifications of the LGA 775 socket format....
