Far Cry v1.33 performance

Far Cry performance is poor, to say the least. The Radeon HD 2900 XT is comfortably beaten out by all GeForce 8800 cards at 1600x1200 and 1920x1200, and it can only muster a win against the 320MiB-equipped model at 2560x1600 due, in the main, to the GeForce's framebuffer limitation.

Thinking back to the architecture, 320 stream processors, where each can work on vertex or pixel processing, things shouldn't be this slow. Indeed, the Radeon HD 2900 XT is beaten out, comfortably, by a Sapphire Radeon X1950 XTX.

We'd hazard this is a driver issue rather than an underlying architectural flaw.
