NVIDIA are powering a new visual computing architecture for next-generation, professional notebook systems with the release of their latest graphics solutions today.

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M, FX 570M and FX360M graphics processing units (GPUs), feature a breakthrough in GPU architecture, enabling powerful graphics, together with visual computing capabilities for professional user groups who demand uncompromising mobility, state the Santa Clara, CA based company.

Shader Model 4.0 support and DirectX 10 compatibility are just two factors of the high-end feature set that NVIDIA's newest solutions boast. PowerMizer 7.0 technology is also described by NVIDIA, as being seventh-generation hardware power management technology which, intuitively, adapts to the user's desire for longer battery life and improved performance, by reducing power consumption and heat generation for the graphics subsystem.

What NVIDIA states is an industry first, finds the new Quadro solutions featuring a unified architecture, one that is capable of dynamically allocating compute, geometry, shading, and pixel power towards optimum GPU performance.

The Quadro FX 1600M solution ships with up to 512MB of G-DDR3 memory, followed the FX 570M which is complemented by up to 256MB of G-DDR3 memory. Both parts utilise a 128-bit memory interface architecture, in contrast to the FX 360M part, which whilst being supported with up to 256MB of GDDR-3 memory, utilises a 64-bit memory interface.

NVIDIA impart that companies such as HP and Fujitsu-Siemens are continuing their tradition of delivering high performance, in this case mobile, workstations by releasing platforms based upon NVIDIA's latest Quadro solutions.

Looks like Nvidia are pulling out all the stops to maintain their recent dominance in the market. Depending on some reviews after the R600's launch I might be returning to Nvidia for my GFX solutions.
and thats one more reason to stay with nvidia :)
You both use Quadro cards instead of desktop ones?
Shader Model 4.0 support and DirectX 10 compatibility plus 512MB of G-DDR3 memory equals a great laptop for gaming!!!

I can't wait until these go live!
