Press Release
20 April 2007
–
Buffalo Technology has expanded the capacities of the TeraStation Live
(HS-DH3.0TGL/R5), and TeraStation Pro II (TS-H3.0TGL/R5) to 3TB, due to
the rise in digital data being downloaded and stored in home and office
environments.
“With an
estimated 50 per cent of UK households having access to broadband* and
the volume of data within businesses growing by 52 per cent a year** it
is inevitable that users will begin to demand extra storage space in
which to keep their content,” commented Gerardine Lynch,
Product Marketing Manager at Buffalo. “Expanding our
TeraStation line to 3TB will ensure that there is enough drive space to
store and share up to 500 DVDs or 4000 CDs of data, fulfilling user
demand for the foreseeable future at least!”
The TeraStation Live is designed for home users that want to store and
share or stream multimedia files such as music, media back-ups, family
videos and photos around the home. Its added multimedia features
include an iTunes™ 7 support and Direct Copy functionality.
The product is now available in capacities of 1TB, 2TB and 3TB.
The TeraStation Pro II is designed for small and medium sized
businesses and home office users (SME/SOHO) that require a
cost-effective, high-performance NAS device, which delivers superior
performance and reliability. It supports Active Directory integration
to allow the TeraStation Pro II to utilise domain users and groups by
working as a client member in an Active Directory domain. The product
is now available in capacities of 1TB, 2TB and 3TB.
Both of Buffalo’s latest NAS devices deliver data transfer
rates of up to 35MB/s and feature five operating modes (Standard, RAID
0/1/5/10), ensuring security of valuable data. The advanced RAID
features also allow for email warnings when there is a system fault,
scheduled RAID checks and continuous monitoring of the file system.
Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the 3TB devices will be
available immediately at estimated street prices of £1,276
(ex VAT) for the TeraStation Pro II and £1,190 (ex VAT) for
the TeraStation Live. Suppliers include Dabs, Insight, PC World
Business, Misco, Amazon, broadbandbuyer.co.uk, broadbandstuff.co.uk and
Play.com.
