Boston shows off the H8QM3-2

Boston had a monster of a motherboard on show at CeBIT this year, how does 128GB of DDR2 on a single board sound? Think you could run a pretty impressive gaming server off that lot?

The H8QM3-2 is the latest motherboard from Supermicro, which brings double the previous RAM capacity that other boards in their range currently deliver. Although looking at current RAM prices you might want to wait till the market gets a bit cheaper before you fill one of these bad boys…

Wow…

…Supermicro are still around…

…:woowoo:

Did the guys actually populate it and fire it up ?

Would be interesting to see how the VRM etc deals with that kind of additional draw

Any chance you will bench it in the near future ?

Maybe on TV ?
I'm drooling over the thought of how may VM instances you could run with quad Opterons & that much RAM… The price to fully populate that board with CPUs, RAM & fully utilize all of the SATA channels must be phenominal though…
