I've not heard of a motherboard being described as a lethal weapon before, however XFX have broadened horizons today by introducing their lethal, but legal weapon - the XFX nForceĀ® 600i Series motherboards range.

Quoting 'killer' performance which is apparently up to 22% faster than an Intel 975P Chipset based solution, the new range also supports upcoming Intel 1333MHz FSB system processors, as well as sporting dual PCI-E x16 slots graphics slots for SLI goodness, together with a third PCI-E x16 slot that is listed as supporting future 3-GPU applications.

The 680i solution boasts support for SLI-Ready memory up to 1200MHz, with 800MHz SLI-Ready memory support being quoted for the 680i LT solution.

Previous testing with 680i solutions has found them to perform on par, however not necessarily exceed the performance of Intel's 975P, hence it will be interesting to follow up on the advantage of up to 22% that XFX has quoted their own implementation has over Intel's 975P.

If this all sounds just too thrilling, why not find out more by reading the press release in full?

I'm curious to see what they come up with.
they are just reference boards afaik.
although if these prices are right the full 680i is silly money

Yeah those pics on Scan are definitely reference, cant see XFX shipping that though.
Hopefully they throw in a free 8800GTX ? ;) :P
