Extra clockspeeds push both XFX XXX GTS' performance to nearly 20 per cent greater than the ASUS model.

SC:CT doesn't offer any evidence to suggest that framebuffer limitations are coming into play. We're a little surprised to see that the 320MiB card doesn't pull out a larger lead; the extra 30MHz core speed should be coming into play here.
