Quake 4 performance

Our Quake 4 netdemo runs fast enough on all the cards. Again, the ASUS GeForce 8800 GTS is outpaced by the older GeForce 7950 GX2 and almost caught by the venerable GeForce 7900 GTX.

Gaming summary

Our three gaming titles - which are representative of games engines throughout 2005/2006 - highlights how NVIDIA' multi-purpose G80 architecture isn't best leveraged with titles that are heavy on basic texturing rather than shading in general. That's not to say it won't run an older selection of games well: it will, but its real worth, we feel, will be shown by the upcoming titles such as Crysis and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
