Game Performances

We test at 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 8xAF (common LCD resolution for many gamers) and 1600x1200 with 0xAA and 8xAF (to see how the tradeoff between a res. jump and AA goes) to test performance.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

SCCT

The Sapphire X1650 PRO is the slowest of the three by a small but measurable margin, all three are no/barely faster than an existing Radeon X1600 XT (albeit one slightly overclocked), and all three are monstered by the GeForce 7600 GT. The gap to X1600 PRO is an understood one and GeForce 7600 GS keeps pace in our second scenario.

Far Cry

Far Cry

The comments for Splinter Cell apply here too. 7600 GT doesn't hold the lead at 1280x1204 that it did with SC:CT, but it's still ~20% faster than X1650 PRO in that test.

Quake 4

Quake 4

Again, the SC:CT comments apply in the main, except that at 1600x1200 the 7600 GS is quicker than all of the ATI hardware.
