Introduction

We've been giving AM2 a lot of attention in the labs recently, as product after product surfaces. Many, in fact nearly all, of those have been based around either NVIDIA's nForce 570 SLI or nForce 590 SLI chipsets. They're both good performers, but still have a few software issues we think should be addressed sooner rather than later.

However, if green isn't your scene, or if like us, you like to assess all available options, then there's always ATI's Radeon Xpress 3200 chipset.

CrossFire's a mighty nice dual-GPU implementation and ATI's latest high-end card, the X1950 XTX is one awesome piece of engineering, so a marriage between that and Xpress 3200 on AM2 could be a match made in heaven.

On test today then, is an Xpress 3200 based board from ASUS. It's called the M2R32-MVP and it's got a reputation to maintain; we reviewed its Socket 939 counterpart some months ago. On with the review? We're game if you are...
